The
North Midlands Football Association and the neighbouring Perenjori/Morawa League
amalgamated to form the North Midlands Football League (N.M.F.L.). The amalgamation
meeting was held at the Perenjori Hotel on the 24th June 1963.
Mr Phiel, the President of the Morawa/Perenjori League was the Chairman. Mr V. KeatingA addressed the meeting on behalf of the North Midlands and Mr T. Prater on behalf of the
Perenjori/Morawa League. The
amalgamation was finally agreed to on the 29th July 1963 with Mr T. Prater suggesting the name of the North Midlands Football League. Mr
T. Smith from Caron advised that Caron and Perenjori Clubs were amalgamating as
the Perenjori Football Club using the Caron colours (Maroon with gold hoops) as
their colours and with Perenjori oval as the home ground. Mr
T. Prater from Merkanooka advised that Merkanooka and Gutha Clubs were amalgamating
to become the Rovers Club with Morawa as home ground and black and
white as colours. The Coorow colours at the time were Maroon and White. On
the 4th May 1964 the Morawa Club was renamed as Morawa South. Each
Club payed an affiliation fee of 25 pounds to the League. Eneabba apply for entry to the North Midlands - rejected.
