BULLDOGS CREATE HISTORY

MINGENEW created history on Sunday, when they defeated Carnamah/Perenjori by 34-points in the Farmoz Grand Final of the Cunninghams North Midlands Football League winning their third consecutive flag. This is the first time that this has been achieved in modern history of the NMFL. Mingenew have appeared in six of the last seven Grand Finals to claim five flags.

Mingenew had their hands full up till half time with Carnamah/Perenjori leading by 5-points at the long break.

In the third term Mingenew rallied and outscored Carnamah/Perenjori.  With Murray Thomas at centre Half-forward converting possessions generated by midfielders Josh Starick and Craig Storer.  In addition Michael Kerr and Luigi Moreschi were sweeping loose balls across the Halfback frustrating the efforts of Carnamah/Perenjori mid-fielders. Karl Criddle lead the Bulldogs scorers with 8 goals and Justin Bagley 4. With the game played at a frenetic pace on a very hot day, Mingenew's Finals experience was too much for a young Carnamah/Perenjori team.

The Len Angel Medal for Best on Ground was awarded to Josh Starick of Mingenew while the Perth Football Club Award went to Karl Criddle of Mingenew.

Considered by many to be favourites in the Reserves Grand Final on Sunday, Dongara were unable to quell the attempts of a determined Coorow-Latham side at Mingenew, who went home with a 70-point winning margin and another Grand Final Flag. The huge crowd witnessed the complete dominance of a very determined Coorow/Latham Football Club who won their last Reserves Premiership flag in 1991. The Ted Duffy Memorial Trophy for Best on Ground was awarded to Chris Burley of Coorow/Latham and the Perth Football Club Award went to Chad Zimmerman of Dongara.

While in the Colts, Dongara claimed their first Premiership Flag since 1993 and in the Nippers, Morawa completed their back-to back wins.
