CBH SCORE A WIN FOR

COUNTRY FOOTBALL

At a time when many rural communities are struggling to keep their sporting clubs operating, Co-operative Bulk Handling have stepped up with a financial contribution to help at a time when it is most needed.

The North Midlands Football League received a healthy shot in the arm from Director John Carstairs, to the tune of $1500.00.  This money is part of an overall sponsorship deal that has CBH supporting the W.A. Country Football League to the tune of $30000.00. Eighty four football clubs within the W.A. grain belt will receive similar amounts of funding. This contribution will enable the North Midlands Football League to keep affliation fees to a minimum and cover the escalating costs of Country Week Football. At last Sundays fixture at the Morawa Greater Sports Ground, Mr Carstairs watched Junior teams from Mingenew and Morawa play off before making his presentation to North Midlands Football League President, Mr Kerry Mutter. With football clubs often providing country towns with a social lifeline, students from the W.A. College of Agriculture – Morawa, were only too keen to thank CBH personally for this funding. As many of the students play senior football for the Morawa Tigers, and with a large percentage of them coming from rural towns themselves, they know what this money means to football teams within country W.A.
