ROOS STUN EAGLES

Carnamah/Perenjori travelled to Dongara on Sunday returning with the points! In a one-sided affair Carnamah/Perenjori kept Dongara goalless for the entire match, something that hasn’t been heard of in living memory and ran out 78 point victors. Dongara won the toss and elected to kick with the 2 goal wind in conditions that are brilliant for football. Both sides started slowly with Dongara doing most of the attacking to no avail. Carnamah/Perenjori steadied with Luke Sunderland putting 2 majors on the board late in the first quarter. The second quarter was much the same, Carnamah/Perenjori getting the loose man taking the ball from full back to full forward with David Lete & Andrew King getting free all to often. Robert Thomson managed to cut off many attacks from Carnamah/Perenjori but was having no luck finding free players. With Dongara having a much younger and raw side, Carnamah/Perenjori made use of their maturity for the remainder of the game.

Best for Carnamah/Perenjori were Nathan Patterson; Brendon Hausler; Peter Machin; Andrew King; Mark Bowman & Dwayne Cliff. Dongara – Robert Thomson; Peter Spalding; Kent Taylor; Malcolm McKenzie & Adam George.

Goal scorers for Carnamah/Perenjori – Les Sunderland 5; Graham Wood 3; David Lete 2; Justin Patterson, Mark Bowman, Dwayne Cliff & Andrew King 1 each.
